A progressive web app, or PWA, lets a supported device add Bookings by Hugo to its home screen or app launcher. Open it for quick access instead of typing the website address every time. It uses the web platform, so an app-store download is not required for this installation method.
Keep the facility and client roles clear
Staff access the tools available to their authorized role. Clients use the client portal for their pets, supported booking requests, records, invoices and conversations. An installation does not grant extra permissions or replace signing in to the correct facility account.
Enable notifications when the device supports them
Push notifications can help surface messages, reminders and important facility updates. Users need to allow notifications, and support varies by browser, operating system and installation state. Device focus settings, connectivity and permissions can affect whether or when an alert appears.
Use it as connected business software
The PWA gives convenient access to the connected service. Do not assume that live bookings, payments or records will work without an internet connection. Check the experience on the actual devices your team and clients use, including sign-in, navigation and notification settings.
